Benefits of Parent Collaborative Therapy

Parent-Collaborative Therapy has many benefits for children with developmental challenges and their families. This method enables parents to be active in their child's therapy, which helps maintain consistent skill practice at home. By teaching parents specific strategies for their child's needs, it improves their relationship and communication.

This approach can result in better behavior, as parents can use techniques during everyday situations, boosting their child's learning and growth. Overall, parent-mediated therapy not only aids the child's development but also supports family relationships and strengthens family functioning.

A modern approach

ABA services can be delivered in the home, telehealth, or community with a BCBA.

  • Your involvement is needed. ABA works best when parents/guardians and caregivers use the training and strategies in their daily lives.

  • The BCBA works with your family to create a treatment plan. Your child and family will learn strategies to use at home and in the community — wherever your family goes.

  • BCBA can help encourage positive and adaptive behaviors.

I have worked in school systems and organizations with special needs population for over 20 years. My background and training have allowed me to experience a wide range of therapeutic methods but my biggest take away that leads to success is to educate & empower the parent. Parents are their child’s first teacher and with my coaching and training I can empower you to be the “change agent” in your child’s life.
